People, Light and Nature

at the Hearth of a Sustainable Business

Content

People, light and nature: three key elements that are brought to life within our working space. But what is the profound connection that binds a company to people’s well-being as well as to sustainability?

Recent statistics based on both Italian and foreign data underline the effect of produced by the environment in which we operate on the quality of life at work and thus on our productivity.

These aspects concern not only good human resource management within the company, but also the ecological and economic aspect: these sustainability issues are not always given due weight and value.

Instead, devoting attention to these aspects brings excellent results in terms of economic productivity, optimisation of resource management, and improvement of the working environment.

Reducing stress, improving concentration and productivity, decreasing absenteeism: these are just a few examples of the benefits of working in an environment designed with proper attention to sustainability aspects in a broad sense, such as the introduction of plants, the use of quality materials, and proper room lighting.

Serena Bartalucci, Simona Ventura, and Giordana Arcesilai , three architects specialised in green and sustainable living, will present the different solutions available and the advantages they can bring.

All of this is aimed to your well-being and to contribute in your daily work to the achievement of the sustainable goals that are meant to bring an improvement in our lives.

The Festival

Currently in its eighth edition, the Sustainable Development Festival is Italy’s largest initiative aimed at raising awareness and mobilising citizens, the younger generations, businesses, associations and institutions on the issues of economic, social and environmental sustainability, spreading the culture of sustainability and bringing about a cultural and political change that will enable Italy to implement the United Nations 2030 Agenda and achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In seven years, about 5,500 events have taken place including conferences, seminars, workshops, exhibitions, shows, sport events, book presentations, documentaries and much more.

The Festival was also recognised by the United Nations as an innovative and unique initiative at international level, being twice classified as a finalist in the SDGs Action Awards.

The initiative is promoted by the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (ASVIS) with its more than 300 members and the support of Partners.

And yet the Festival is the fruit of everyone’s collaboration: individual events can be organised by anyone who wants to contribute to setting Italy and the world on a path of sustainable development.

The 2024 edition of the Festival will be held from 7 to 23 May, in person and online, throughout Italy.

Events can also take place in the ‘surroundings’ of the Festival, i.e. in the week before (30 April – 6 May) and the week after (24 – 30 May).
